Rachel Cousins is emerging as one of Atlantic Canada’s most promising pop artists.
Since releasing her debut 5-song EP This Fire in 2017, Rachel has demonstrated her ability to weave pop melodies with folk, rock, and electronic influences. She was a part of the 2020 collaboration album Songs from and showcased alongside Alan Doyle, Fortunate Ones, The Ennis Sisters, and The Once.
Rachel Cousins talent as a vocalist and songwriter is no secret in her home province, where she has collected 5 Music NL nominations in 2022 and was named the Pop Artist of the Year for 2020 and again for 2021.
With her single, “Aftermath”, Rachel Cousins offers a vulnerable-yet-polished piece of herself to the listener. CBC called the song a “soaring piano pop ballad” as it reached the top 10 of the national Searchlight Contest on June 15, 2021. Her third studio album is currently making international waves.
