Climate Collective Film Festival: Climate & Arctic Voices
The theme of the films this month will focus on amplifying Arctic voices in the face of climate change, resiliency and adaptation from a northern perspective.
The Arctic is a critical component of Earth’s climate system. Its changes are not isolated; they reverberate across the planet. Although the effects of climate change can be felt all over the world, they are occurring more rapidly in vulnerable arctic regions. Rising temperatures in the Arctic are 2-4x the global average, and the impacts can be felt and seen through rapidly melting sea ice, thawing permafrost, habitat loss and degradation, and a loss of Indigenous traditional ways of being. Join us for this free film festival to learn about climate issues from the perspectives of people in the arctic.
