We Are Family: How Everyday Choices Shape Our Kids’ Experiences of Gender and Relationships

Come learn practical skills to empower your children to be confident and reach their potential!

📅 Workshop Date: June 11, 2025 – 1 PM - 4 PM

📍 Location: Convention Center, St. John’s, NL

🕒 Time: 3 hours | 🍽️ Food provided

💸 Cost: Free!

This isn’t a lecture—it’s a supportive, thoughtful space for parents and caregivers to talk about:

  • how cartoons, compliments, toys, and traditions shape what our kids learn about gender,
  • how everyday choices signal what’s “okay” or “off-limits”—often without us realizing,
  • and how we can raise emotionally connected, open-minded kids—no matter their gender.

Space is limited, so please register in advance ASAP: https://klbteaches.notion.site/

This event is being held at the St. John’s Convention Centre as part of the Canadian Psychological Association’s Annual Convention. However, the event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC — registration for the conference is not required, nor is any affiliation with the field of psychology. The workshop is for parents and caregivers!

The event is funded by the Canadian Psychological Association and the Public Health Agency of Canada and presented by researchers and professors from Trent University, St. Jerome’s University, the University of Waterloo and Memorial University.
